Everytime I bang a left hand turn I scrap the bejesus out of my kickstand. Is this common? Im worried about it digging in and kicking up the back tire. I really have no interest in dumping the bike because of something stupid. I can avert it if I dont really lean the bike but I was wondering if there is anything else I can do to rectify this.

ensure the header to pipe clamp is orientated to allow full retraction of the sidestand.

Only lean to the right. I am on my second kickstand now. I ground the first one down to a knife edge. It never caused my bike to get "kicked out". The footpegs are another story. I have stuffed them hard enough to get kicked over and nearly broken my foot a couple of times. It comes with the territory when you ride like that. Talk about excitement!

Are you guys doing maneuvers like that with the stock Metzlers? I can't even get close to the pegs without the tires turning to Jello.

No Metzelers for me. Not enough grip to ride like that.

Put a little air in 'em. They get nice and stiff and they stick like dung to a hogs butt.

I don't think anyone could miss that. It makes a helluva clang when the stand hits the clamp. That's what I was told, anyway...

Try this, place a length of pipe over the foot lever and give it a gentle bend toward the frame. My kick stand lever was slightly bent out and a little tweak got it right out of the gravel. Easy does it, you don't want to break it, just give the lever a little relief.

I've noticed a few times that if I don't fully raise the stand with my foot, it will hang several inches below the frame. Apparently, the spring isn't as strong as it needs to be in order to complete the job. I wonder if in your case the spring is allowing the stand to fall down a little when you corner. You could test that by tying the stand in the fully retracted position for a test ride.

I'll try tying the stand up and see how i make out, if that doesnt work I'll give it a little bend.

the little piece your toe catches to put the stand down is about wore off on mine. it's a really sharp ankle sticker. the bolt for the left header clamp is about wore in half too.
