I'm 6'1" and have a sport shield by Memphis Shades on my Speedmaster. It looks great (IMHO) and doesn't detract from the lines of my bike at all. I lined it up on the same angle as the front fork rake, and it looks like the bike was designed with it in mind (see my photo posts). While I do get some spillover air at highway speeds, it isn't what I would call "buffeting" and I've gotten used to it to the point that I don't even notice anymore.
For me, riding without the shield on is not an option, since I live in a bug friendly state and have washed some rather large ones off the front which, otherwise, would have smacked me in the chest or face - OUCH!
Cost was (if I remember correctly) around $180.00.
