Chris, I absolutely HATE anything that takes away from the long low (and lovely) lines of my bike, but I've made 2 cross country trips this summer and last (600+ mile days at the beginning and end with shorter stints in between), and I can say I hate the feeling that someone has plunged a knife into the muscle right at the base of my kneck even more (this last trip, it took over a week to clear up and some PT excercises, so before I do another, I am at least going to try a shield. It will come off though the other 98% of the time when I'm commuting or doing a couple hour ride. As for all the other reasons (bugs, etc...), my flip up full face takes care of those issues, the neck is the ONLY problem) Hmmmm, how come we don't have any particle physicists on this board who can invent a small force field generator that would mount in our center console and create a field that is invisible to the eye?
