I've spent a lot of time in France visiting the wife's sister, never had any problems at all.

Infact we debated moving there and are still thinking about it..

Well, I'm gettin' ready to stick my foot in my mouth again...

Seems the French took a big hit during their 'reluctance' to join use in our ever so fruitfull battle to rid the world of weapons of mass distruction. If I recall correctly, one reason was that they didn't believe that all those missle silos and chemical bunkers existed. They also had a rather large population of Middle Eastern residents they determined might gets a bit miffed by the effort to rid the world anything and everything the west came to associate with a burqa, a scimitar, and sand. Well, after witnessing the aftermath of the great war, the loss of life, both from on the battle field to the mass transit systems of G.B., to the indigenous civilian population, the countless monies buried deep within the coffers of the likes of the good folks at Hallaburton - I'm thinkin' the French have an appology comin' their way.

Je vous souhaite à tous bonne journée mon français mon vieil ami M. Ratfrog et tous les autres coureurs français ba.com.

Well, I'm just as good at doing the same.

Canada didn't join the U.S. in Iraq either. We didn't believe any of the "evidence" either, so you might as well start hating us too.

Sorry John,

If you're throwing BC into the mix, no deal. Especially considering Rene' Louis is French Canadian, a double whammy. But he's better rider than us mere mortals, willingly buys poor Americans fermented grain products and is tolerant of parking lot ciggie moochers

U.S. Animosity towards France goes back much further than the current Iraq war bullpoop.

Actions such as; Pulling out of NATO at the hieght of the "cold war".

Blocking Great Britons entry into the then "Common Market"

Frances continued testing of nucelar weapons, after much of the world argeed to stop.

France was the #2 supplier (after the Soviet Union) of arms
to mideastern counties such as Iraq,Libia and Siria. I think they have been replaced in that by China now.

Argentina's miltary dictatorship (you know the one the Brits kicked the crap out of in the Falkands). Was propped up by French weapons. Mirage Jets and Exorcet missles. There where some reports that France may have been suppliog Argentina with satilite inteligence.(but that was probly the Russians).

France did supply troops (Foreign Leagion of course) in the first gulf war. However it was made clear that they where
an independant force. Not under Gen. Swarztcoff's command.
Which made them pretty much useless.they where assigned to attack an empty patch of desert.Which they did quite well.

In a mut shell, France has not supported the U.S. or Briton on just about anything since around 1948.

As for the current Iraq war. Frances refusal to back us was
purely economic. France was Saddams #1 European buissness partner. Iraq owed them a lot of money. A dept France still refuses to forgive by the way. I noticed in one film of GI's
checking the content of 55 gallon drums. Big labels saying
"Made in france" on them.

Jeez I promised myself i would not do this anymore.Oh well.

Okay folks! Jonny here seems a mite embarrassed about the general tenor here. Yep! Seems he apparently thinks some of the joshin' goin' on here is rather...ummm...let's say "sophomoric".

Yep! Ya know, there seems to be a whole lot of "tender sensibilities" out there in the world today, and so I "THINK" we better watch our collective "P's and Q's" around here from now on, folks!

And SO...in THAT case, I'm serving notice HERE and NOW that the NEXT GUY who takes a shot at, say, any R.U.B. HARLEY RIDERS out there will DEFINITELY BE OFF our BA.com "Diplomatic Corps List" from now on, TOO!!!

(...and so of course that means, THERE WILL BE NO MORE OF THIS SORT OF TOMFOOLERY AROUND HERE FROM NOW ON!!!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

My views on the French have nothing to do with anything recent, see Jack's post and a few other points I won't get into.

Doh, and I was just getting ready to start a new topic "let's pick on Madagascar"

Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

Nah, Graham! I THINK you might have forgotten that THIS website is geared toward the discussions of motorcycles!

And so, it's probably not a good idea to pick on Madagascar HERE!

(BUT it WOULD BE perfectly acceptable to pick on...are ya ready for THIS one dude? ......MadagasBIKES here at BA.com!!!)
