Not trying to HD wanna be, I just likes me some gee gaws and carry a lot of tools from home & stuff to commute.
Stuff = lunch box, one gallon of lemonade, a thermos of coffee, a coffee travel mug, & a folding portfolio for invoicing and such. Then there's the other "stuff." Rain gear, tools, tire kit, flashlight, spare wire and connectors, tape, matches, paper & pen, wet wipes, hat, life size map of the US, yadd yadda yo.
Does that mean I'm doing it wrong? Probably.

... but it fits my daily needs
And yes - I do like a large windshield, for I am, after all, a crunchy boned geezer.
Oh yeah - don't forget the mid ship pegs.

I must admit - with the turned down smoke pipes, I do like the sound of exhaust snappin' off the pavement.
Pipes courtesy of Walt's Tractor Supply.
Thank you, Walt.

You might just have changed my mind about bags and screens. That is one nice ride my friend.

Baggers have dashboards in their fairings with a stereo and speakers, and a cupholder.

(ahem) You forgot about the ashtray.

I have a set of soft bags for my Speedmaster, but I can see the appeal of hard bags. I'd just mount them with a set of Easy Brackets so you can convert to nekkid easily enough. That's the one thing I also like about my QR windshield. I generally don't run with it, but in cooler weather or for a long trip, it's a nice thing to have.

I had a chance to ride a friend's HD bagger and it was nice enough but HEAVY. I can see the appeal of adding a few pounds worth of bangs and windshield to a BA or Speedmaster and enjoying the smoother and lighter ride.

LOL! That would cause a riot around here with the HD plant in town. There's probably 30 Street Glides per square mile around here.

2005 Speedmaster, Tornado Red, AI removed, Uni Pods, JCW 19" turnouts

Are they any less of a motorcycle?

Well, now that you ask

They are cruisers, not touring bikes. You can't tour on them. They are maybe good for 40-50 miles is all then you have to take them home for a rest.

try tellling that to Moe.
