Yep Al, interesting alright. The story of a young man who feels trapped by his conventional existence, and so he jumps on a motorcycle and rides across this fair country while seeking the true meaning of life. Kind of a "Then Came Bronson" 2009 version, huh?! (hmmmmmm...I wonder if Michael Parks has a cameo in it...maybe playin' his dad or somethin')

I wonder if this is based on someone's real story. At any rate, it does look interesting. I hope they hit the mark.

I'll go see it, it looks interesting. It may be hard to find since it's an independent film, may have to go to those artsy-farsty theaters.

Thats what I thought. We're pretty short on those places here in Western Maryland... Hopefully Netflix will have it, they seem to carry everything else. Quote:

Does he come to terms with the memory of his Dad who used to race Triumphs, but gave it up to become an IT dude and died of boredom? The Norton would be cool.

I might go to one of those "artsy" theaters, but I'm gonna steer clear of the "fartsy" ones....

There's were this kids life's conflict arose, it's very common father-son thing. It goes like this, his father the older Bronson, the inventor of the cigarette lighter, it's fluid and of course an avid HD Sportster enthusiast. The younger Bronson, an avid smoke free activist embarassed by his wealth derived from the family business, oh! and he is a brit iron guy. The movie is about this continuing conflict till the father-son conflict is resolved. The resolution comes when both Bronsons ride to LA to save a youger daughter who has become a crack addict, they weren't successful, they didn't know you can't save crack addicts. But, the older Bronson buys a new Thunderbird and the son realizes he needs the family fortune to keep his vintage Norton street worthy and that there are worse things you can smoke than cigarettes.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

I think I like your rewrite of the opening sequence here even better, Bill! BTW...I tried to find that particular opening to the "Bronson" TV series on youtube...BUT, while I was lookin' for it, I "think" I found an "even better" movie that I think I'll try to find a DVD of for this year's SWTF!!!(are you listenin' Mike???) Now granted, as far as I can tell from the trailer here, it doesn't seem to have any motorcycles in it, BUT DUDE...this baby has "classic" written all over it! ESPECIALLY the one "dance scene"!!! ENJOY!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmXptj1VPu0

Well I'm not quite sure about the Bronson thing, or the crack addicts, or the HD IT old man, or the Box of chocolates. But the one Week movie looks like it might be a good one.

Yes, the restoration of an older Norton..'66 N-15 can certainly accrue the costs. I used to be a crack addict, now I just see her on the weekend..

Well Stew, it's like I always say....If you want understated little human-interest flicks, then Canada's your baby!!! BUT, if you want to watch HEADS EXPLODE off bodies, simplistic storylines, AND gratuitous sex, THEN HOLLYWOOD IS WHERE IT'S AT, brother!!!! (not that I'm inferring the average American moviegoer is a friggin' moron or anything like that, you understand, BUT those moguls makin' the BIG BUCKS while sittin' on their keeters in Beverly Hills KNOW what SELLS, dude!!!...that "might be' why they MAKE the afforementioned "Big Bucks", ya know!)

I saw this movie last week & enjoyed it. If it doesn't end up showing outside of Canada, I think it's worth renting/buying when it comes out on DVD.

That's the wrong version of "One Week". In that one, a black guy who is getting married learns a former partner has aids. Oddly similar story line with the same title as the one referenced here. Quote:

We saw this movie a while ago and quite liked it. Decent drama, great views of canada and, of course, the Norton. The movie firmed up my plan to ride across Canada this year but I've just noticed that my planned route is almost identical to the one used in the movie. I started googling around to see if I could find a list of the "Big Thing" roadside attractions they show in the movie and I found this web site http://www.oneweek.ca/media/1204417. It shows the route and also has a neat q & a with the director. PS, I am NOT getting a nerd helmet or jacket for the trip.

That's pretty interesting. I'd like to see the film, but can't get it here in states. Netflix found it, but shows as "unavailable". The website below says it was released on DVD in June. Quote:
