Yes, but if there were enough extension past the angle, it would be a 90 degree mating surface. I assume about an extra 1/4-1/2" would have done it.(maybe 1" at most)
Could maybe shave some off the original riser bottom if the setback ended up to much. Just a thought, we all have opinions.
