I've been wanting a factory Triumph light bar for my 04 Speedy. I've never bought any accessories like this before so I thought I ask some of you that have......where's the best place to order this factory light bar from......and do I need anything else like an additional wire hookups?

The OEM lightbar kit will include everything you need right down to the mounting bolts and the little rubber bracket for the relay, the instructions are clear and concise, and it's "plug and play". The hardest thing about it is threading the wires through the bar. It's basically this: run the wires through the bar, bolt the lights to the bar, bolt the bar to the forks, remove the tank, run the harness along the frame and plug it into the socket under the tank, mount the relay where it lives, and put the tank back on.

thanks all, especially your instructions Sandman. I've been waiting for quite some time for this accessory and so I ordered it. My few experiences at night I think convinced me it was needed.

I replaced all the bulbs with PIAA's on the America and wes very pleased-much better than stock. Even better when you aim them!

best investment your gonna make for your bike. i never had a bike with a lightbar before and now i dought i will ever own one without again. for running the wires thru, get a wire that is a little stiff and run it thru first then hook the lightbar wires to it and pull them thru (a snake if you will) and it wont be that bad.

When I added the lightbar it was like magic. Suddenly almost no oncoming vehicles tried to turn left in front of me. Sometimes they'd start to but they'd "see the light," straighten their wheels back forward and brake. I've still got lights, just not the factory lightbar.

Wendy has the Triumph light bar and that thing really lights up the road. I ride behind her so I get the benefit too. Well worth it to do the lights.

I do ride a lot at night, and love the light the light bar throws - aimed a little to the right and left to see the critters along the road side, but the reason I bought the light bar, and had it installed before I took delivery, was so other people would see me in the daytime. I ride with the bar lights always on, and can't say that I have ever had anyone even act like they were going to turn left in front of me in 48k miles.
And if your "closing rate" is applied just right, they move right on out of your lane, too! Day or night.
I like the wide spread between the lights of the Triumph Light Bar as opposed to those on Harleys and some other bikes that look like you could reach from left outer to right outer with your pinky fingers with your thumbs touching in the middle. From a distance I think the three lights that close together almost look like one, where with the wider spread ours has, there is no doubt that there are three distinct lights on the front of a motorcycle coming at you.

thanks all for the help and reviews. I took some time yesterday and installed. Might have took me two hours. What I did notice after taking off the tank were the relays had fall down from their position. The relays have a rubber slot that you guide up on the holders, but all the rubber was broken, so I zip tied underneath the top from member under the tank. The was probably the biggest hassle. Now I'll have to get out their in the dark someday soon and aim the new lights. Anyway it all went back together and worked. eeeehhhhaaa

Those grommets that hold the relays are of a poor quality build - they could be made to withstand the heat and last longer. But they are cheap, and can be replaced. Buy spares......

I'm not familiar enough with these bikes yet to say. My BMW has a voltage regulator which is supposed to keep the voltage coming off the alternator at 14.1 volts or less. If the TBA has something similar, that might be a place to look.

You have an intermittent short. Meter all your fuses for continuity. The lightbar fuse is a ten amper: #1. Take off the lens for each light. Start with the left light. Inspect the wiring for a bare section where it is contacting the case. If you can't find anything, Then: See if you can isolate a section of wire where the direct shorting occurs. Might try something like this: take the left bulb out. With the right bulb in does the fuse blow? No, Replace the left bulb and take out the right bulb. Blow the fuse? This will help identify which side of the lightbar wiring has the nicked wire. Also the harness itself ( between the light bar and the relay) may be shorting out.
I'm writing this because i had the same problem you have. Turns out the wire in the left light bucket was shorting out on the case. Annoying too because the nature of the short was intermittent due to the wire end vibrating ever so slightly and hitting some metal in the light bar's left light bucket. In the left bucket you have the switch as well. Check those leads too.
