I have to chime in with the general "gist" of this thread. I've been on just a few of those "strangers thrown together" type rides. The inevitable near miss scenes. I'm so busy watching the bike ahead/behind/beside I don't enjoy the ride itself. Too many unknowns for me. We have a worthwhile fundraiser ride for seriously ill children. The last few years I make a donation, but avoid the gaggle.

Small groups of friends (on Triumphs) riding their ride is another matter
