Thought i'd put a picture up of my new ****** shape (nothing new really, standard bob job) with the tail light from a Victory Vegas and Oberon LED indicators.

I'm thinking about a simple paint job and i'm wondering is the white 'speed line' over a matt/silk black an overdone thing or do you reckon i'll just be making a baby Thunderbird?

Nice, I like the tail light, and the stripes are fantastic

Nice work. I better get my new paint (with stripes, offset) done soon before stripes become really popular!

Sorry just realised i should have mentioned that the Stripes there are Photoshopped - i'm having last minute doubts as to whether stripes are overdone or not (i.e. whether i'm changing a stock look for another stock look)

but i'm looking at a silk/matt black with the white stripes as shown on the pics.

the fender/lights etc are all real though!

as a side, how did you manage to get the image embedded properly - i couldn't work out how to do it.

I took the link you posted and took off the feat=directlink from the end, went to your picasa site, and linked it from the image code.
would have looked like this:
{image}http://lh4.ggpht.com/_gt4f2uCNUjI/SZwkP85stpI/AAAAAAAAADo/xcUpIAcCrVk/s512/Bike%20Paint%20Job.jpg{/image}
but with [ ] instead of { }

NICE WORK. They fooled even me and I like to think of myself as a bit of a Photoshop expert. They look great. "Make it so." Would you run them over the front fender, too (I'm gonna)?

Looks great. What a pity we have to ruin our bikes with those enormous number plates. Do the police in America have better eyesight than our coppers? Also makes you wonder what effect they have on fuel consumption.

Not going to lie here. When I read the topic, I thought for sure it was going to involve a butt crack, and some paint color code ($hit Brown).

Dang nab it. Thought I was going to be the only one with a Victory tail light. Looks really cool.
What kind of current limiter setup did you use for the LED?

Cheers guys, going to get it booked in in the next couple of weeks - maybe with a few last minute tweaks.

On the Victory light, i can't tell you about the limiter set up as i got a mate to sort out the electrics - i just did the cutting.

As a side, i was told (not sure how accurately) that the 04 Victory Vegas light (which i have) runs like a bog standard 12v light but the more modern ones are slightly different and may be more of a faff to wire in.

don't know if that helps at all...

I'll ask him though and get back to you.

I think I can finally show my rear end now. With out photo post it was a matter of getting my bike on a page to link.
If this works.....I made a laydown mount and use a led license plate frame. Got a led tail light and to cover the oem light shape in the fender I fabbed a cover plate to mount the light. To take up the extra room on the bottom I attached a belt buckle. A small led in the brake light (for plate illumination)actually lights the buckle. Have run turn brakes so the back end is lit red all the time. Saddle bags have home made brakets. And yes the metal work is overseen by my friend, he helps when I'm stuck. The new light plate is powercoated and mounts with the oem brakelight gasket. mrca my pic page

Nice job! Very original way to cover the existing mount!
