My 500 mile service is due and I was going to have the AI removed. According to my Triumph dealer it is not recommended for the EFI models it only effects the Carb models. Any one have any views on this ?. He also told me that fitting TORs will not need a re-map as the ECU will update itself.

The dealer is probably correct in regard to the AI Removal.
If all you do is install the TOR then a re-map probably isn't needed. If you modify both the intake (remove snorkel, or modify the air box), and exhaust then a re-map of the ECU will probably be needed.

On an EFI model I'd leave the AI alone.

I don't think there is any reason to have an AI system on a fuel injected bike because the fuel control is more precise.

I think they still need it for emissions so they can dilute the exhaust gases with fresh air.

Thanks for the imput guys.
I will talk to the dealer again with regard to the remap for the TORs and let you know the outcome.

I am thinking that if you remove the AI from an injected bike the O2 sensor further down the stream will see less 02.
The FI will apply a correction to bring the reading back in tune to its desired setting, as it cant increase the air it will decrease the fuel, this will actualy lead to a weaker mixture, not what you would be wanting with swapping out the silencers as well.
Of course if there is a FI remap it should take care of this if it was set for the AI removed, meyby the Triumph remap does not.

This is a valid train of thought. It could very possibly cause the injection to go dangerously lean. Not being an injection expert I don't know this for sure but it makes sense to me.

motorcycle fi can only make minor changes as in elevations, dont expect it to learn anything, a tune will be necessary for any real changes to the bike

Got the TORs and they do need a re-map of the ECU. Going to the dealers on Thursday for my service and he is going to do the Re-map. I am very pleased with the TORs, the sound is so much better the stock - so thanks to all the wise heads on this Forum for the advice - the next job will be the Progressive springs and Hagon rear shocks according to the advice on the site. I weigh in at 196lbs, can anyone advise on what shock setting/model I should get.

If you remove the AI on the EFI models you will need to re map. Any aftermarket exhaust as long as it is baffled will work without re mapping.
