I had a set of totally gutted pipes, no baffles. When I took out the reducer, lost torque. Once it got up into higher RPMs, it would fly. Had another set that I removed only the baffle tube closest to the header working through the reducer (which was difficult), didn't notice any difference. Had a set of Epco pipes that are much more open at the header end, less torque than stock, more power at higher RPMs. Right now I have a set of short TORs. Power and sound wise, I was happiest with the long slash cuts with three baffles out, leaving the reducer and 1 baffle.
