Now WAIT a minute here, Ian!!! Maybe you don't know this, but IF you wear THAT jacket AND a$$less chaps, THEN you've segued from the "Brando Look" TO the "Village People Look", dude!!! (ya see, not ONLY will you have "time-warped" your way from the 1950s to the 1970s, BUT your whole "image" will have taken on more a, shall we say, "San Francisco Look", as compared to say the "Let's Take Over Hollister in 1947 Look"!!!) 
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Naw Dwight, the style is one I personally prefer for a heavyweight cruising jacket. The issue is one of branding rather than cut. If it says Triumph or (place merchandise brand here _________ ) I won't shill by wearing it. Merchandising is a pet peeve; I know some of the yokels around here who have Dallas Cowboys coasters and napkins... (  x 1000 )
Come to think of it, I may just have to find a way to make the SW Triumph Fest to see how may Triumph coasters you have.

And you're in luck! The only coasters I've got are from a friend of mine's brewpub called "The Red Car"! 
HOWEVER, I gotta warn ya, I DO have a couple of Triumph jackets and MORE than a few Triumph T-Shirts which I sport around!
(so, let me ask ya somethin' here...You don't even have any T-shirts that proudly proclaim "Triumph motorcycles" on 'em???...why THAT would almost be, um, UN-AMERICAN, or at least un-british anyway, BOY!!!)

I don't know why but I was always under the impression Victory sold a lot more than 5000 bikes a year.
I noticed on a recent thread that they took a 60 plus per cent hit in sales last year (I think Triumph was up 2.5 per cent).
Is that Victory figure correct or was it a typo?

I can't find any hard production numbers. But it looks like Victory & Triumph are both less than 2% of motorcycle market share.
That being said, to think 2.500 T-Birds could be sold in this economy is pretty optimistic.

I would say 2500 Triumphs total sold in this economy would be good.

Polaris reported that the Victory division did somewhere over $90 million last year which is somewhere just over 5K bikes out the door. In a decade they've put approximately 50,000 cycles on the road; last year Triumph put 50,000 cycles on the road, HD put out somewhere around 300K and Honda sold 13 million. Triumph just has to nudge a few HDs and Hondas sideways to achieve success.

I'm hopeful that both Triumph and Victory keep putting out quality modern products so that there are bikes out there for the rest of us...
