From what I've read in these forums, Chuck, being an hour away from a dealer is good going. Don't worry about it and just choose the colour that speaks to you. The FI engine is slightly more powerful and if you just want to ride, rather than tinker, is probably the better bet. The same applies if your riding will see you changing elevations a lot.
Also, there may be a difference in tank shape between the 2 years. I may be wrong, however.
Oh, and regarding the title of the thread, if you're thinking about buying a Speedmaster, then you certainly don't need help!! An America, on the other hand...
