A TV ad commercial for a "Loud 'n Clear" hearing aid plays relentlessly.

One of the bits shows a lady playing BINGO, she asks her friend what number was just called. "B3" is the response. "Darn, I had it". According to the accepted rules of BINGO, doesn't she still have it??

Another bit shows a stealthy hunter holding a high powered rifle in the woods. The voice over guy say "You can hear game before they hear you". If he shoots, but forgets to turn off the device, does his head explode??

Just wondering..........

I set mine around 1200 when it's cold outside, then turn it down to about 1000 when it's warm outside.

More idle thoughts ---

Why would kids rather play with a cardboard box than the 4,126 different toys they have?

Yeah, well...after you folks answer those questions John here posed to ya about THAT commercial, I've got one for ya TOO here.

What the heck is "Bud Light has 'Drinkability'" supposed to mean, HUH?!

(I'm guessin' it means that they can't sell that swill to the public unless they come up with some kind of crappy P/R campaign like THAT, because they certainly don't want to mention its TASTE, right?!)

How long a minute is depends on what side of the bathroom door you're on.

Did you know that if all of the smokers were laid end-to-end around the world, three-quarters of them would drown.

I know too much time on our hands.

Neither Kit,

I prefer to think of it as nimble, agile mind, fueled by coffee & a fertile imagination .

It's like the sign on the entrance door to the Sheriff's Dept. "No illegal Contraband beyond this point". I asked, "What's legal contraband?" He replied "Who has time to think of stuff like that".

See you in Nelson, we can discuss it over a glass of Ale.

If you travel at the speed of light and turn your headlights on will they do anything?

Well, THAT depends, Ian.

And I say this because, Albert Einstein once explained that in his famous equation, E=mc2("c", of course representing the speed of light) that in the instance such as what you've asked here, the headlight WOULD STILL shine brightly ahead of somebody traveling at the speed of light.

(However, the great genius went on to say that that would ONLY BE the case IF the headlight WERE NOT manufactured by the Lucas Electical Company LTD of Great Britain!!!!)

I don't remember if it was Albert Einstein or another great thinker but it was theorized that light is an exception to that rule because nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. Light does not act like a baseball thrown in a moving bus.

Why SURE you could!!!

I mean, has NOT being a trained professional or educated in a particular field that was being discussed around here ever stopped ANYBODY from "theorizing" an opinion about ANY topic that may come up? HUH?!

(what are you tryin' to do here dude???..make this place BORING or somethin'???...I HOPE you KNOW that if THAT kind of thinking ever catches on, then they just might as well SHUT DOWN this place called "The Lounge", dude!!!!)

Since when has a lack of facts, knowledge or experience EVER stopped ANYONE on this site from talking about any topic?

I never make any comments unless I'm absolutely right.

Well, I was wrong once.
But that was only because I mistakenly believed that I was wrong when in actuality I was right.

Well Bill, that STILL counts as one "wrong", ya know.

(and I'll let you be the first to know IF and WHEN that ever happens to ME!)

As long as we're asking questions here...I have a few.

So why is it we drive on parkways and park on driveways, huh?

Why do we say our alarm clocks are going off when they're really going on?

Please Help!!!
