That would be nice but politicians have exempted themselves, and most others government types, from any liability for their actions. If they were as liable as private citizens making the same decisions they would act with a lot more discretion. (Parole boards come to mind) On the other hand, in our incredibly litigious society do we really need to feed more to the trial lawyers? If you really want a politicians attention get a bunch of people to send him letters or emails demanding the action you want to see and support his opponent if you need to. Threaten his job and you'll get his attention.


We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
