The ink they use has improved a lot, they also don’t put the ink as far under you skin.(I have a friend who is a tattooist).
Also if you have a tattoo that is exposed to the sun use an SPF 30 or above on it. The UV from the sun causes it to fade.
All Tattoos fade eventually but you can slow the process down.
