Hi Guys
Just on a brain sucking mission.
Had to upgrade to new computer as old one was toooo slow, new one is operating on windows vista ultimate.
my old combined printer/scanner drivers are not compatible and according to lexmark web site they do not have compaible drivers.
So I am looking for a new MFP unit, and considering wether to get an Inkjet or Colour Laserjet.
Would appreciate if any comments as to the pros and cons.
Thanks

Colour laser is far better but refills are more expensive.. If you got the bottle to do it you can buy the powder and refill yourself and save LOADS..
Before you buy check running costs.. refill costs etc
If I had the choice I would go for Laser every time..

Inkjets work better for the house , if you dont make LOTS of copies , refills are cheap enough , there are retailers now that can refill cartridges on-site for $10 or $12 USD . Multi-function printers are so cheap now they cost just slightly more than a set of inks .

I have an Epson RX620 series that I love. It can make prints from slides and do transparencies and world of other stuff. I'm sure since it is a couple years old now that there is something better but I would reccomend this one to anyone. The ink is available on Ebay very cheaply. I bought like 4 of each color last time I bought it for $14.

I have a lexmark x5400 which is very good. It can even print out a magnetic Union jack decal that i can put on my rear swingarm.

As a HP and Xerox dealer I would reccomend one of the less expensive HP color laserjets if you want the least expensive cost per page. If you want to do photo's no laserjet will get close to image quality of even the cheapest inkjet. I have a HP LaserJet MFP thats B&W, which takes care of all my office printing, copying and fax and an inexpensive Canon color printer for my photos.

I have an HP officejet 5610 all-in-one copier/scanner/printer. The ink is an issue sort of once a year because I don't use it much but it makes great photocopies and decent colour prints. the cartridges aren't even that expensive. and having a fax can for sure be handy if you're not an office worker.
I have a separate laserjet 1012 that we use for bulk printing. neither of these cost as much as a pair of my kids sneakers.
