I have a whites unit that is about 15 years old. They have come a long way in performance since I bought mine. The entry level detectors easily outperform some of the older high end detectors. It's a lot like fishing really. A man with a cane pole sitting on the creek bank sometimes catches more than the guy with the new bass boat with the latest tackle. Its all about enjoying yourself.
