I ran short TOR pipes for the first 28k miles. At 500 miles I removed them, duct taped the ends and poured 240cc of olive oil in them. I then taped the inlet ends and around the slots, then tumbled and turned them until I thought they were well coated. I poured the oil out and off to a nice 300 mile ride the next day. When I removed them a couple years later, there was no rust inside to be seen. I am sure this is similar to tempering a cast iron SKILLET.
Apparently, it worked well. I am using Specialty Spares long slash cuts now and I need to do the same, I guess (after i remove the packing material, of course).
