Dang, this is heart-wrenching stuff. I had no idea my little homespun ideas had achieved cross-country fame. I'm all choked up. <sniff> Hey, I don't wanna be a glory hog - just to be sure you get equal time, will you quote yourself on their site when the 'Bird is cancelled?

You know, pretty much every group of any size I have been associated with has at least one person (no, it wasn't me!) who simply delighted in stirring things up. Some because they just enjoyed it, even if no one else did, some because they were genuine holes. I figure you should ignore them as much as possible and call them on the bs when you have to. I'm not sure every group needs an azz to function but they do seem to just show up. There are some sites that are dedicated to 'intra hole' exchange. Hopefully they eventually gravitate to those.

Anyone who wishes to verify this, PM me and I'll send you the link (as I don't think it should be made public without permission).

Isn't it already public?? Didn't you say it's posted on another MC forum? Hey, if you lied to me and this isn't public, I'm gonna be real PO'd. Please just post the link so I can thank those nice people and have it professionally printed.

BTW Dog, sorry to hear about your business. I know from experience how difficult that area can be when it comes to earnin' cash. Can your rig plow snow? When I lived up there, I used to call a plow at least a few times every winter. Just an idea, I'm sure you've already thought of it. Hope things improve.

No it's a 2wd 1 ton with push bumper. I do a lot of winching when it snows but other than that things are pretty dead. Sucks after doing so well for 11+ years. It's like someone flipped a switch and no more calls.

Latest news in the saga:

Quote:

Shares of Harley-Davidson (HOG) are revving up today on news that Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway bought $300 million worth of the firm's senior unsecured notes. (Davis Selected Advisers, Harley's biggest shareholder, bought another $300 million). The stock jumped nearly 23 percent before falling back a bit late in the day. So is now the time for another look at the motorcycle legend?

Not so fast. The bottom line is Harley is still under pressure from a weak economy. Right now, it's in the process of slashing some 1,100 jobs and dealing with fallout from the credit crunch in its financing arm. Analysts note the financing business needs about $1 billion worth of financing for 2009. This deal puts "a good dent" in that, analysts at William Blair note, but it doesn't make Harley's sales look any rosier.

Unfortunately, the deal also highlights ongoing tightness in credit markets. It's rare that Buffett makes an investment on unfavorable terms, and right now he's getting some truly great deals. That's because nobody else is lending, and for retail investors it's just the latest sign to avoid companies in need of cash during the toughest lending environment in decades. At a 15 percent annual interest rate on his investment, Buffett is getting basically twice the rate usually paid on corporate bonds in more normal times. Good for him. Not so good for the market.
