At work last week, I came to the conclusion - I don't care how old I am, I just aspire to be like a visitor we had, 84 and still riding his Sunbeam S7 almost daily, and rebuilding an S8 in his lounge at present!!

Well the America came out in '02 and the Speedmaster was introduced in '03, it's currently '09 so the average age of the America is 3.5 years and 3 years for the Speedmaster. The median model year for the America is 2005. For the Speedmaster is 2006.
My average age is 21. With my median year being 1988. The average age of my Speedmaster is 2.5 years and with it's median model year is 2007.

I'll be 41 in April and my '07 Speedmaster is one and a HALF. I'm still rockin', touring, and a new Pop. If my knees wouldn't give out, I'd say I'd didn't feel a day over 39.

As Bigbill stated earlier: I'm old enough to know better, but too young to care. My America is 7.5 years old, with only 5 years with me. As for me, I'm 52, and I have never colored my hair. Redheads do have a tendency to grow gray gracefully.

This is what happened to my hearing after riding bikes for 45 of my 61 years: [image]  [/image] Just kidding, btw, I have owned a Cushman, a Honda 50, a 150 Dream, a 250 Scrambler, a Kawasaki 400, a Honda 750F, and a 750K. Then a Honda 650 Nighthawk, a riding lawnmower, then my Triumph 900 Trophy, and finally my 2004 Bonneville America. Each one got louder than the last.

I have never owned a new bike. My SM is the closest I ever came, it was almost a year old and had 700 miles on it when I bought it.

I'm a 1954 model, conceived on a 1948 MAC Velocette, or so rumour has it. The America is a 2007 model , the kids gave it to me for Fathers Day, funded it out of their inheritence.  As for going grey, who gives a rats, what was meant to be, will be, anyways, it all looks good from my side. I'm not about pleasing everyone else, I'm happy and enjoying life, what else can you be when your butt is sqashing an america saddle?

Well a woman is not suppose to answer her age, but they also tell me I should'nt be riding a motorcyle as well. What the heck, I guess that is why I am in this forum, I am guessing neither matter, it is all about the bike.
I am a new rider, 07 Bonneville America, and 47 years of age. I have a question about the tank on the 07, is the flat knee grip area only on the 07 BA? Can anyone help me on this one?

I bought a 75 Norton 850 new. Candy Apple Red. I wish I had not sold it for peanuts. It had never been down. Low mileage. Its ****** to be young and poor.
2008 BA, Ageon Blue, roadster shield, light bar. tach, big bags, square engine guard, short sissy with rack. All Triumph parts. No mods.

I'm old enough that I long ago ran out of fingers and toes to count it up. In fact, the only way to tell for sure would be to cut me down and count the rings. I'm told, however, that there should be 55 rings and counting.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
