That bike is U.G.L.Y.
What is that in front of the fork tubes and over the front brake? I don't like the way that looks either.
The exhaust on the other side looks like it runs along the middle of the bike and not along the bottom. I would like to see what that looks like. That could be the most exciting part about the bike in my opinion.

Soren posted this in another post link which shows the other side too. That side looks much better with the cool exhaust setup, but I'm still on the "nah" side. I do like <verb> bobbed bikes though.

They look nothing alike beyond having two wheels and a v-twin engine.

I don't know if I'd call it a copy, but definately looks more like a confederate than a victory.

And don't forget they both share the old tractor-style seat too, John. But you're mostly right here. Other than a few design elements, the Confederate and this Victory concept bike have little in common visually.
But hey, at least this Victory has a few design elements such as the sweeping gastank into frame which wraps around and continues back forward under the machine, which makes it look more a COHESIVE WHOLE, unlike that darn near monstrosity of a total industrial look otherwise known as the Wraith, which looks like a collection of pieces thrown together without any unifying theme.
(nope...I don't like that overt industrial look one bit, because in MY BOOK, things that MOVE through air currents such as cars and motorcycles should have a "flow" to their design that looks like they don't have to overcome airdrag anymore than they have to.....leave that frickin' industrial look to stationary BUILDINGS and GENERATORS, I say!!!!)

Now, you see Ian, your two simple responses above of "FUGLY" and "Now I like that BMW much better." tell me NOTHING as to WHY you feel the way you do about either of these machines! (..and thus usually lies the problem with communicating with the classically stoic "men of few words", huh folks?!) In other words, please explain to me why you think that industrial look Beemer there looks any better at ALL than that Victory, as I can't see why ANYONE would think so here!!!

Now that's a first! I have never been described as a man of few words before! I hate the long stretched gas tank look on anything, I have always liked the boxer engine and I like the exhaust on the BMW.I like the fancy rotors on the BMW and the spoked wheels on the BMW. Can't say I like the headlight area on any of them or the rear fender but I like the BMW back end best of the 3. Better?

I dunno, maybe I 'm getting to old but I'm just not sure who they are trying to target with some of these new designs. Maybe rich guys that need another trophy added to their collection I suppose.

Mike, If that bike sold well, it would sell to those who also bought or would buy the Rocker C or the Skull and Bones from Hardley. A 20k drag bike that is normally outrun by any 600cc sport bike is the consumable of the bike night poser. Victory is learning quickly. They will be in business for some time to come if they continue to give posers with a 650 credit rating what they need to fill out their lives. Like the motor company, they want to have a bike for every butt, so to speak. I think its a great looking bike. I think I would like it a bit less after the first 100 miles of a 300 mile day.
I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

I gotta admit, some of you guys are giving this concept bike a warmer reception than from many Victory riders. I saw this thing in person yesterday at the NY show. I took some close-up pictures but don't know how to post them here without a link. In any event, it's a CONCEPT bike. I think the biggest thing Victory is trying to do with it is come up with a way of making a new, lightweight frame. It's pretty wild. From what I've seen it's based on some of the ideas of the Vision frame and going a step further. If you can make a lightweight bike (under 500 lbs) with 110 ft lbs of torque and almost 100 HP, it's going to be a blast to ride. With a kinder seat & suspension of course.

I kind of like it. Very much Confederate influenced, but smoother and more appealing to me. Best looking Victory I've seen yet (no offense to current owners). I'm just not a fan of the full fendered models currently in production.

Worst case the design is a tribute. I don't know why so many people have a problem with that. It's nigh impossible to make anything truly unique anymore, whether car, motorcycle, web site design or song. You can't even buy this bike (yet). And if you could, just don't buy it. Market forces will handle the rest.
