Hey All, I bought the spacers for my America bar risers last year and had considered doing buckhorn bars down the road. Figured I'd solve the style/reach issue by buying Speedy risers to replace the stock America's. I'm probably just inexperienced enough to be stunned by the 183.00 sticker price for a set. Anyone come across a better price? I've got enough mods lined up for the next couple months and these are not critical at the moment. Chances are pretty good I won't even consider them till I actually swap out the bars but...can't hurt to ask around I figure. If I found the walk away deal of a life time price, I might be inclined to do it sooner. BB

That's an awful lot of money for a set of risers.
If you have all the measurements, perhaps you can look other places for similar ones?

Phil, Thing is...I'd rather stay in the family if I can. Speedy risers solve my problem perfectly based on the measurements you and Pat sent. But almost 2 bills? That's nuts for a couple pieces of turned/brushed SS and a clear coat. At least I'm thinking...

Yeah, I have a few sets of BA polished risers that I will swap with anybody for $40(includes shipping) and their old risers.
$180 seems an outrage, even for Triumph. I bought a set of Speedie risers last year from my dealer and they only charged me $80.
Brent, when you say you will have your own polished risers soon, does that mean you will have a new creation or will you be selling polished stock risers? Hope everything is well.

$183, yow! Who gave you that "special customer only" price anyway? CMS? That sure seems way high to me.

Brent, I'm always cruising your site for an opportunity to hand over some of my loot to you. Any hints as to what these things might look like and how much? Also, I remember some time ago I saw the pic of your front fender with a bib. I can conclude that you never decided to go any further with production on those? BB

Pat, Yep...that was CMS. I am willing to allow for an error in looking up part numbers and all but at the moment I think they're on the back burner anyway. I just tallied up what the OTHER stuff is going to cost me and I'm already in the hole.

Untill Brent gets some risers together, here is a link to the Custom Chrome catalog. They have risers ranging from around $70 up to astronomical. Look in the index for what you want, then click on the page number to hotlink ot the page. Don't forget that this stuff is mostly for HD, so you will probably have to use inchic instead of metric bolts. http://www.customchrome.com/catalogs/ccp/t.html

Greybeard, Thanks for the link. Spent an hour looking around until I remembered that I told myself to let these wait until next season. Got it bookmarked for when I am feeling flush again. BB

Is anyone using Jims spacers? Do they help alleviate shoulder pain after a long ride? Do the stock cables work ok with them?

Hi Matt, I have them and used them on my stock bars (have buckhorns now and they are still on there, check pic below). They are the cheapest pain reliever out there!! I used to get shoulder and upper back pain and that pretty much stopped with the spacers. They do not need anything changed with the stock bars. However, the throttle cables will be a bit tight at full right lock. No big deal. I know a couple of people would get a little throttle rise at this point but I did not (02 BA). The solution for this is to remove the tank, then remove the cables from the control side, and route them up the right side of the backbone behind the forks and back to the controls. Now, even with the buckhorns, there is plenty of slack in them. The easiest way to install them is to have some wires (I used 12ga) suspended over the bike close to the controls. I have an overhead wood rack that I put some eye screws into at the right distance apart and then with the wires hanging down, I walked the bike directly underneath them. Tie the wires faily tight to the bars and then remove the riser caps (cover you tank with a blanket or a folded towel just in case). This way, the bar are held up out of the way while you do the rest! Here's a pic of the throttle cables moved:

$183 for risers is nuts. look on ebay for some 6" risers. you should be able to get some under $50.
Yeah it's fast. It's blue and it has flames.

Brant, Just following up on an old thread. The reason I wanted to go with the Speedy risers is because I want to match the brushed stainless that's on there now. I just don't like seeing the chrome against the brushed dash. If you do your own, any chance you would do them in brushed...SPeedy length? I think that's 4" top to bottom. I think Pat left those dimensions in this thread but I forgot to look before I posted. Tad
