I use Comodo Internet Security and Spyware Terminator. Both free. Comodo is an antivirus and firewall with all sorts of things to configure, should you wish (or just leave it, as I do).
Of the better-known antivirus programs, I think they're all as effective as each other; it's just a case of which interface you prefer.
