Good post, Tom! Yep, over here, we're still burdened with the royal parasites, parasites that are even more powerful today than they were in George III's time. Trouble is...most people over here don't realise the enormous, unchallengeable power and influence of the monarchy and prefer to believe that the current incumbent merely serves to bring tourists into the country.
What sort of place provides laws that favour the royals over and above ordinary citizens.? What sort of society includes royal priveleges that enable the monarch and her son to 'control or otherwise intervene in proceedings that affect their rights, property and profits'? What sort of system requires the parliament in Westminster, the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh Assembly Government to include special provisions in their standing orders that require them to consult these parasites in the event that new or proposed legislation impacts upon their interests??
You can bet your butt that this lot are doing very well out of the current economic crisis!
