So, for a long time I've wondered why none of the large windshield manufacturers in the US, Memphis Shades and National Cycle, specifically, do not manufacture a windshield or mounting kit for the '07. As it turns out, through conversations and emails with both companies, there appears to be a relationship between National Cycle and "other national manufacturers" not to produce an aftermarket windshield/kit for the '07 as National Cycle is the OEM manufacturer for the Roadster and Summer Screens. This was stated by two separate sources at Nation Cycle and one at Memphis Shades. Let me be frank, I don’t understand it.
Now, I work in contracts, proprietary information and establishing “vendor relationships.†The only thing I can fathom is that National Cycle has a contract to produce the shields for the ’07, which no other company wants to challenge for legal reasons. If anyone has deeper insight into this new revelation please let me know.
Also, I would love to put a Memphis Slim on my ‘07. I seem to remember a thread with someone putting a Slim or a Fat on their ’07 without fabricating brackets or removing the upper fork covers. Has anyone done this? I appreciate the help and I apologize for beating a dead horse!
