does anyone have suggestions before I light the torch and turn on the grinder ???

Just remember that the neck is cast and not straight tubing. It'll be a little more difficult to cut the neck. You may want to chop and stretch the backbone and downtubes to get the rake you want. Take pictures and keep us posted.

Well, the descision has been determined that a 4-degree rake will be best achieved through a new tree, this after the ace welder said #%@*! that neck is cast. If the calculations are correct, the front axle should move 3.25 inches add to that the 2 inches going from 19 to 21... the picture looks good. Step one will be the rear-end with the new fender and Lucus tailight and relocation of turn signals
I'll have to buy a digital camera and get my teenage daughter to show me how to post the pic's.. This will be more fun than figuring out how to put the two place sidecar on the 900 Trophy.

Just be careful as well with the neck. If you are just using raked trees to acheive the rake you want you have to watch how your trail is affected. You may get the look you want but the ride could not be worth it. Just something to watch out for. Keep us updated.

Yes, one thing we are very cognisent of, negative trail
otherwise known as "that wobbly wheel on the Wal-Mart cart"
Saw one of the "paid for chopper types" at a toy run and the builder had built in a sizable negative trail.... looked good but quite dangerous in my humble opinion.
This will be a functional chop suitable for trips to Durango
or Silverton this summer.......
