Can someone give me a quick education on the snorkel? Sounds like a good thing to remove, where is it? Anyone have a pic?

No need for a pic.....you cant miss it. It's under the seat and you'll see it sticking up right near the tank. It's just a rubber nozzle sticking out of the airbox. Grab it, pull, done !

Take off the seat. Find the bent rubber pipe looking thing sticking out of the top of the airbox. Give it a squeeze where it goes into the airbox to get the latching tabs clear of the airbox cover and pull it out.
Part 2:
remove the little boxy cover on the left top of the airbox that hides a wire connector. Take out the 3 screws (maybe 4, I forget) that hold the oval cover to the airbox in place. Remove the cover, then reach in and lift out the air filter. Reach in and feel around toward the front of the bike till you find the air tubes leading forward to the carburettors. If they have rubber tubes in them, pop them out the same way you did the main snorkle. Replace the air filter (open end up!), the 2 covers you removed ant the seat. Then, go enjoy having 2 - 3 more HP!

Re-jetting necessary w/o snorkle? I pulled mine and it hesitated when opening throttle til engine was hot. All the way hot. Put it back in, back to normal. (Plugs are pure white. Just got some jets in mail from Brent, doing that this wknd.)

You'll probably be ok with some jetting, but i would definatly add at least one shim because thats where the largest range of throttle is and probably where it needs enrichening the most. Got pipes on it?

Stock pipes less 2 end baffles. Read somewhere not to shim America needles. Got some shims anyway. Just found that either I ordered wrong or something, got a set of 120's and a set of 125's. Ordered 125 & 130. Well, I'll try the 125's for now
