Well that would be good, but I am not sure if I can handle her hitting me in the back of the head all the way up there, telling me to slow down or watch for that car

I'm still not sure if my wife is going to come out or not. She'll be like 7 1/2 months pregnant by then, so she obviously can't ride. She may come out w/her cousin and do some shopping or whatever in Galena.

The MP3 player idea is a good one!

Wife is checking her work calendar, I am taking a vaction day. If she can get the day off as well, I would imagine we'll head out in the early afternoon.

Where are you at in Lake County? If the timing works, maybe we can find a place to meet up for the ride out...

Is there a hard plan for the boat cruise Friday night?

The stop at Field of Dreams is not bad. If you loved the movie then it is worth the stop. When I was there, some of the outfield was back to corn. If you want to go and haven't seen the movie, see the movie first, you will appreciate it more.

A hard plan? Not really. I'd like for everyone to go, but I don't want anyone to feel like they have to be tied down to an agenda, know what I mean? Why do you ask? Don't have your sea legs yet?

Read the book, too. It's called "Shoeless Joe", by W.P. Kinsella

I can imagine. Books usually best the movie by some measure. Interesting name of the author. I guess they paid tribute in the movie - wasn't Costner's name Joe Kinsella in the movie?

One of the all time great baseball movies. That and Bull Durham are my favorites. Never read the book though.

The HARD plan is to cheat the ticket booth and gangway and climb the rat rope up to the deck. Most of the rest of us are going with the easy plan.

UPDATE-

The Happy hour cruise by www.americanladycruises.com is booked for friday July 10th at 5:30. Price is $13 plus tax that includes free beer, sloppy joes, appetizers, soda, and free f'n beer! Check out the site for more info.

I booked the reservation for 25 people. I can change it to 30 or more if necessary. Maybe we should have a roll call to find out just how many of us are definitely coming...

Umm, well if it follows suit, I will say rain one day, sun the next, rain the next and so on. Temps anywhere from 110 to 30,,. This has been one of the oddest Spring/Summers so far for the weather. I never know if I should drive or ride from day to day or what to wear.

In this neck of the woods, and with our forecasters, it's always the same forecast... Chance of rain, chance of rain, chance of rain...... Eventually, and occasionally, they get it right!

It always kills me when I hear a forecast claiming 35% chance of rain today... while it's raining.

Call me thick, but doesn't that make it a 100% chance of rain??
