I have a nice saturday ride planned out that I think will be very cool. From the hotel across the river down to the motorcycle museum in Anamosa, IA. From there we take the Grant Wood scenic byway to Bellevue, IA and down along side the Mississippi on the great river road. Back across the river into Savanna, IL, where there is the Iron Horse Social Club and Poopy's (both biker bars, IHSC has a museum). From Savanna we travel north through Mississippi Palisades state park, through some winding, hilly, beautiful countryside, up to Stagecoach trail, and back into Galena. Mapquest says just over 4 hours and 189 miles. Here's a map, it's from the old hotel, but you get the idea.
