Went and saw the movie "The Spirit" today. It was pretty good. Not quite as good as I had expected, but pretty good and worth seeing at the theater.

It's got some real bad reviews but I'll probably go see it anyway. I loved Sin City.

It's definitely not as good as Sin City.

I have observed that good reviews = crappy movie.

if you like old school biker movies (grindhouse movies), check out 'he11 ride' by larry bishop, produced by tarantino.
replace those 1's with l's. filter made it look like asterisks

Depends on where you get your reviews. Certain syndicated newspaper reviewers always seem to hate what I like. I found some online reviewers who seem to match my tastes.

Yeah there is a little false advertising there. Frank Miller is the writer/artist of the Sin City comics and although has a byline as a director on the film it was more Robert Rodriguez at the helm teaching Frank how to direct. This time it's Frank at the helm by himself.
I'm seeing it tomorrow but don't have high hopes from alot of comments I've read. Here's hoping they are wrong since it would be a shame to blemish such a good property.

They said the lack of someone like Robert Rodriquez that sorta sunk this one. Hopefully he'll be back for Sin City 2.

Saw The Spirit today and it wasn't that bad. But maybe I'd sufficiently lowered my expectations going in. It was definitely camp.

I saw The Spirit on Saturday night. I know I should not have had high hopes. At least we got to see Eva Mendes' very fine rear, but I was still bored. I think only Scarlet Johansen, Samuel L. Jackson and Louis Lombardi were any good at all. The other actors were pretty poor, and the action scenes were to long, and then too far between.

Loved Sin City and 300, the Spirit was ok, but definitely not as good as the others. Kinda cheesy.
