It's almost 5 a.m. we're packed and ready to hit the road in a few minutes. Everyone have a safe trip down.

I should be there Monday, late afternoon/early evening. Need new tires for the truck and going to the zoo here in Columbia with my mum, sister, and two nieces on Monday.

You didn't get a ticket on that new Sprint did you Pete?

This is killing me.
Why did I change the oil and wax the bike? Because I do that everytime I go to the GA. Rally.

Well... the riding weather is perfect today here in GA... and my bike in the parking lot just outside my window (glinting at me in the beautiful afternoon sun) whilst 60 miles north of here the rally rides have already gotten underway.

Still trying to figure out how to get up there (with Rachel) this week even for a couple of hours. Hope y'all are enjoying the heck out of that beautiful country on perfect day. My thoughts are with you, even if my bike is just sitting there... glinting.

Thom I might be wrong, I sometimes am.

Yep.. had a great ride up Richard Russell about early thirty this morning. Of course the sunrise was obscured by clouds but we hung out and enjoyed the morning for awhile before going to the "Just off the square" Cafe (told you I'd remember the name of it).. well, actually I had to read it off the sign.. twice.. anyway, we had a nice hot breakfast that really hit the spot.

I conned everybody into helping me with my yard work and the prep stuff (hee hee.. got 'em again) then we had a nice dinner at the Mex place... all in all,a hekuvva day and a great way to fire up Ga Rally '09.

Ocoee tomorrow...

We are in Rome! Going to the old mill on the campus of Berry College, then heading for to Dahloega via Ft Mountain. Lynn saw Jimmy Carter in person this past Sturday while in Plains.

Stopped by Triumph corporate and saw Paul and Peter and Myra.

OK boys and girls, I hope to meet-up with some of you this year. I'll be attending the NTBF rally in Maggie Valley... ALTHOUGH... I will NOT be riding a Triumph.

Yep'er, I'll be on my beloved Ducati GT1000. And before anyone hands me my hat, I just want to say that I'm not one of those guys who puts a Tail of the Dragon decal on their bike having never been within 500 miles of the place. All the Triumphs I own (except for my America) have been down there but this will be the first time with the Duc.

I'll keep an eye out for you guys. Be safe.

/Mike

I hurt my shoulder at work last night, actually felt it pop out of the socket and back in..yes ouch. Was not able to leave this morning as planned. Trying to recruit my neighbor to help me drive down. If he says yes, I will leave here in the morning. If not...we'll see how this thing feels come morning, right now, not so good, even with drugs. But then again, I am a bit of a wuss. It was clear riding the bike the whole way was out of the question.

Yesterday we rode up to Lake Ocoee.. traffic was light so it was a good day of riding with perfect weather. We rode up 19 to 64/74 taking the scenic route around the lake. We ate at the Dam Deli.. good food.. interesting ambiance, then made our way back down 60 to Dahlonega. About 150 miles of great roads..

Today we ran the 197 run.. sucks the water wasn't up at the "dip" but it was a great ride all the same. We ate at Daniels then made our way back down 17.. very nice run and again, fairly light traffic with great weather. We hung around the polebarn all afternoon and went out to eat some Mex at the usual place.... Cherohala tomorrow... my butt hurts already.

I'm so bummed! It's not looking good for me to make it Saturday as i was planning. I have to attend my step sons graduation Friday evening, and the weatherbabe just said 50% chance of rain for Saturday. Plus, the wife wants to go for a ride before work too. She's not able to come, and doesn't want to ride often, so i better make her happy if i want to be happy.

I had a great time riding with and meeting you all! After I broke from the group Tuesday at TWO, I packed up and made it to Smokey Mountain National Park for the evening.

I rode the Blue Ridge Parkway as far as Asheville then hurried back to Indiana (family emergency). I pulled into the garage about 1:15 this morning. My butt hurts! I think 620 miles in 1 day is too much on that stock seat.

Next year I hope to be able to ride through the weekend with the group, maybe I can even talk the wife into coming with me.

Leaving Paducah, Kentucky soon. Bloody freakin stormin the past 500 miles! See ya'll in about 7 hours. Flash flooding in this area and looks like we missed some severe weather as trees were down everywhere along the Interstate just north of here. Supposed to be real bad back that way again, so glad we're passed through it.

One thing I have to say? It is green down here! Looks like they are ready to cut hay already, trees are all full of leaves. We don't even have grass growing yet and trees are just starting to bud. Amazing what 12 hours south does for climate.
Even if it is raining, it's warm and green and I like it, I like it a lot!
