Well preparations are well under way for for our traditional Hogmanay celebrations here in Scotland. Tonight will be night for parties singing the old songs. Eating Black bun drinking plenty of beer and whisky "first footing" your friends and neighbours. If you turn up at a door tradition dictates you take a bottle and offer the host a dram. This is usually accepted under condition that you accept one as well from the hosts bottle. Steak pie will be cooked and short bread eaten. Children will be allowed to join in the party and be encouraged to take part. New year resolutions are also encouraged these are generally something positive you intend to accomplish in the coming year.

To all my brothers from all round this world may this year be a great time. May all your hopes and dreams come true. I wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year.

I may not be with you all at the bells but when I raise my Glass to toast the new year in I will think of you all. Also spare a wee second to think about those young laddies and lassies who serve in Her Royal Majesties Forces who are away from home and families serving each and every one of us. I know that not all of you have Royalty but the feeling is the same.
