I don't know about the Bonnie out performing the TR6, I have a TR6C and a couple Bonnies 2 72 5 spd Bonnies and a 67 Bonnie and I don't think they could catch the TR6C. The C model had a better cam in them but then again I run 10.5:1 pistons in that bike and the others have the stock compression pistons. The twin carbs tended not to stay balanced from my experience but were very easy to put back. Each carb was pulled by its own individual cable and they never wore evenly so one alway opened sooner than the other. Simple matter to readjust though.
