My left side exhaust pipe is starting to turn a yellowish gold color. I have 200 miles on it, still in break-in stage.
Has anyone else had this occur. Could I have a too lean or too rich issue? any advice? Thanks

Yes mine has done the same and on the left side in the first 200 K's. Triumph are supposed to be replacing it under waranty but they are on back order.
Seems like the inside pipe must be touching the outside pipe at the first bend. It shouldn't be an engine problem. Take it back to the dealer and tell them you want a new pipe.
Good luck.

Do you mean right near the cylinder head? I believe that having the exhaust header discolor from heat is pretty standard. If you don't remove the air injection they will go yellow then blue.
Here's how mine look after 45,000 km but they probably looked much the same after a few thousand.

Remove the AI and adjust your carbs if your bike is carb style. I don't know where you live so could be FI. Removing the AI and adjusting the carbs will slow the discoloration, almost eliminating it. You can rub that out with several different products like Blueaway or Blue Job just to name 2 but there are others.

Mine is doing the same thing, slight discoloration on the left cylinder. It's got about 6,000 miles now, but I noticed the color starting at about 4,000. I'll probably try one of the products Dog mentioned before going to the dealer. I'm not sure it's really all that important. Incidentally, I think J&P or maybe Dennis Kirk sell good quality chrome outer shields that bolt over exhaust pipes. That might be a way to permanently make this a non-issue.

Blueaway will leave very small petina scratches but works very well. Others have used good metal polishes and with some work they do the trick too. There is a kit out there that has a drill attachment for this job too but I can never remember the name.

I personally use Blueaway. Don't really like Bluejob it comes as a powder you use with a moist rag , Blueaway is a paste like stuff.

My bike started to "golden" when brand new. After 500 miles the AI and snorkel were gone, carb mods, Uni, and different pipes. Never was a problem again. I cleaned it off with Semichrome before the bluing got too noticeable. Bike now has 15000 miles on it and no discoloration.

It starts turning golden before the bluing starts. If you get if off early it's a lot less work. From the factory the bike is way too lean and runs too hot. Properly set up (air/fuel) the double wall pipes should not turn.

I used blue buster. comes in a kit with a buffing wheel that you can attach to a cordless drill. Works well. Can get it from JPcycles.
