seems easier then trying to get it up ramps into a truck. wonder how well its made. they can get a bit pricey tho

Oddly enough, the HD dealer where we got the Lowrider sells something like that. You can also order the kind that has a place to sleep and cook.

Oddly enough, as opposed to trailer queens as I am, there have been a few family vacations trips in the recent past where I certainly wish my SM had come along. A trailer sure would have been the ticket.

Well this is the thing. I do quite a bit of traveling for business and would like to be able to have the bike with me. Nothing worse than just sitting in those hotel rooms with nothing to do. Unfortunately I have to use the car as I do take quite a bit of equipment along with me so a trailer would be the answer

A trailer would have saved me the cost of renting a pick-up truck the one time I wrenched too hard and had to find a way to get the bike to a shop to fix my 'ahem' work. Am looking at a small folding from Harbor Freight for about 250 just in case I get ham fisted again.

If you only need one once in while, uhaul rents MC tailers for about $15/day. They're nothing to write home about, but they do the job and it's pretty cost effective.

following the thread, I've been thinking about a trailer to take the bike on vacations also, but I think an enclosed trailer would be the way I would go. They sell for about $4000 or so. I would rather have one that would be more all-purpose and not nave to worry about flying stones and such, also it would be more secure and keep prying eyes away.

I have seen something similar to this and I thought to myself there would be no way I would trust my bike on this. It sort of looks like it would fall apart at the first bit of stress or high speed. It could be quite handy for those short runs in town just to transport your bike from point to point.

I really recommend the collapsible trailer from Trailer in a Bag (http://www.trailerinabag.com). It breaks down and stows in your trunk (or motel room) when not in use.
I bought one to take down to Pennsylvania when I picked up my Speedmaster and it had no trouble on the freeway for 600 miles back to Ontario, Canada.
I have no connection with the company other than as a happy customer. Note that I bought mine from the Canadian licensee in British Columbia, so there may be spec differences between it and the US version.

As much as I hate to say it,, I like the Idea of havign a enclosed trailer.(father in law got me one a few weeks back).. Also as much as it pains me,, with the baby coming in April, I will be trailering bikes to rallies,like Myrtle beach,Daytona,the smoke out,and Laconia.. Mainley to save money on a hotel room.. Figure bike week the prices go sky high from 40 a night to over 200 a night in some places.. But the RV parks are still 20.00 a night with power hook ups.. So I will load the bikes,Jessica and the baby (ok not this year but next they will go)hook the trailer to the motorhome and hit the road...Besides you know how much women have ot stop and pee,,save time this way lol..
