Has anyone had trouble buying from newbonneville.com? I bought a new solo luggage rack back in July and still have not recieved it.The reason given was they were out of them & are waiting for more from their supplyer.This is my first purchase from them & would like to take advantage of more of their deals but if everything is a back order item I'd have to think twice. So what I'd like to know is ,has anyone else had this problem? or is it an isolated occurance?.....

They, like all vendors, are at the mercy of their suppliers. Have you contacted Brent directly?
Ibought items from Brent many times, and I haven't had any issues. I believe you'll find that to be the case from of the folks on this board with only a handful of exceptions.
If you haven't discussed this with Brent yet, I would give him a call prior to further discussion of the issue on the forum.

I know a few people have had problems with Brent (I never have) but what part of "out of stock" don't you understand? You have a few options:
1. Watch ebay. 2. Buy the Triumph solo rack. 3. Make your own. 4. Wait for Brent's supplier.

yep. I had no problems from this side of the pond only our tax man taking his ££££ $$$$$ when it came into the uk

If " out of stock " was in the description when I made my order, it would have all the difference in the world.

Me too I hate the customs ......charging me tax on imports they have already taxed my wages why screw me a second time and then charge me VAT on the import tax .......

You should contact Brent. I ordered the same rack (along with a couple other small bits) on 7/13 and it shipped on 7/31. I seem to recall a separate email alerting that it would be delayed, so I was glad to receive it so quickly. Did you get an order confirmation from him?

I used to do business there.
1. Many orders with no problem, great shipping, decent parts. 2. Had an order with a problem. 3. Called and emailed Brent. 4. I don't do business with newbonneville any longer.
If I said anymore I guarantee the hammer of smiting would fall hard, I would be told to forget about it and move on with my life, get over it, etc., etc. I say screw me once, shame on you. Screw me twice, shame on me.

Mike, Can't say that I know Brent either, but I've bought a few things from him over the past 2 years (very few). My point was that I've had good results from him and so have most of the people on this board. However, that being said, if I'd been waiting as long as you have, I'd definitely follow up with him either by phone or email and expect a solid explanation. There's always the possibility that your order got lost in the mix either from his end or the delivery service. Certainly not the good 'ol USPS (shameless plug for my employer) You're clearly more patient than most and due an explanation. But, you won't get one unless you ask. Sitting on the sideline will only get you aggravated and without a solo rack. Unacceptable.

i'd say email him. that's what i've been doing. i totally agree about wishing that the solo rack just said 'out of stock' when i ordered it, because i've also been waiting for it, and i've been waiting a couple of months now. however, it's funny that this thread was posted today, because i JUST got my email notification that it was finally shipped. here's hoping brent doesn't think i started this, lol. anyhoo, whomever makes it would have an availability date, then move it back, then move it back, then move it back, then move it back. every time a date was set, i'd wait a couple days, then email brent, then he'd check, then write back to tell me it was moved again. i understand the frustration, but it really isn't brent's fault, as far as i can see however, the 'availability' notice would have been nice

Yep, took me a year and a half to get a refund after getting 2 blemished parts. Somehow it was my fault they were blemished when I got them.Worst part was he kept putting me off saying it would be in that week instead of telling me the truth. He even told me he had one in stock once but it was spoken for so I was nice about it and said no problem thinking another would be in soon to follow. Didn't happen. I have pretty much let it go at this point but still gets me a little urked when I think of the way I was treated. There is much more to it but that's the basics.
Took a year just to get the first one too. Let's see how much of this gets edited or deleted.

I have had many dealings with Brent over the years and have never had any type of problem. Never met the man, but through emails, postings, and a telephone call, I believe he's an honest man who makes every effort to satisfy his customers. That has been my experience. The few bad experiences posted on here come as a surprise to me based on that.
But being in the customer service business myself, I know that things can go fubar and slip through the cracks.
Send him an email and I believe he'll make it right.
That has been my experience...

My personal experience with Newspeedmaster.com has always been positive and most items I've ordered arrived before I expected them to. Newspeedmaster has always met or exceeded my expectations. AND Brent usually includes a tasy mint or two with each order... Yumm!!!
