Why is it I can't stop modifying this danm bike? I really like the way they look from the factory. That's I bought one. Anyway, my most recent thoughts about useful mods have turned to the luggage rack. I don't have any more room on my front forks, so I'd like to hang a leather fork bag under the rack. There's quite a bit of room under there, but unfortunately, it's mostly inaccessible. The problem is interference from both the inspection sticker plate and the license plate bracket.

Here's what I'm thinking about... First, keep the original turn signals, but relocate the stalks to the sides of the fender itself. I would probably locate them at about the same height, just move them forward. Next, I would relocate the inspection plate to the axle nut or other out-of-the-way place, remove the entire license plate bracket, and fill the fender. Finally, I would block the original plate illumination opening in the taillight, then reattach the license plate in a lighted holder at the bottom of the fender, under the taillight.

Any opinions on this? Ever seen anything similar? Photos?

I really like that look. I also like that brake light above your plate. Are those little turn signals on either side of your plate there?

The brake light is above the plate. The smaller lights on the fender are running lights when the bags are on and turn signals when they are off. Bags have turn signals on them and all LED.

I put mine at the end of the fender. I bought a small "license plate lamp" and screwd it on to the piece of metal holding the plate. I dont think it looks good in a close up, yet Im more happy with it at the new position the having it in the middle of the fender!.
I used the screws holding the taillight to make things easy.

If you mount a leather roll under the luggage rack be careful it doesn't rub the paint off the fender.
Not good.
