Well, I finally just took a hack saw and cut an inch off of each end of my stock 09 pipes

and the cut was very easily made...I cut through the pipe and the first baffle, and the first baffle is not tacked in place and just fell out of both pipes

The first baffle out made no real difference in sound, so I went for baffle 2 and 3 and what a difference...it really sounds nice...actually perfect for me...nice and throaty and not obnoxiously loud...I was going to get the staintunes, but ended up needing that money for something else and thought that this was going to be a temporary thing for me..but I really like it and this will probably be permanent...one reason I was hesitating on other pipes is I love the look of the stock pipes, the length and the cone tips...I think the cone even looks better now with an inch cut off

I just used a long and large flat head screw driver to hammer in around each baffle, breaking them away from the plate they are run through and made a hook on the end of a long piece of wire to help in fishing them out...yes, it took some pounding and time, but well worth the effort...wow, they look great : ) I have one short video of the bike for sound but will have to figure out how to get it on here, and I will work on getting a longer video of me riding it for sound...stand by for further...
