omg long story short, i got me a new cell phone. some monster cables and 3mm to 5mm adapter and a 8GB micro sd card. unbelievable. music. from a cell phone. omg. i am in love. always wanted to get an ipod, now i know why. got to thinking that i need at least a 16GB ipod. I filled up the 8GB card with a fraction of my tunes. omg. orgasm. why do i always wait till the technolgy is old? so, in this the 21st century i say Welcome to the Machine. right now i am listneing to the glendon smith quintet. omg... fore that patsy cline, charlie parker, csn, the list goes on. oh yeah some ole blue eyes...april in paris
having all my cds at the touch of button, at a whim, is like rolling on the throttle, splitting lanes and scraping pegs. Night and Day...

Is that all there is? I had no idea sandra bernhard could sing. omg. let's break out the booze and have a ball, if that's all there is...

It won't be so long before "Kind of Blue" is 50 years old...

It is pretty amazing. I have a iPod Classic with over 425 CD's on it, plus all my digital photos from the last 7 years, and I still have 48G of memory free. It is really nice having my entire music library with me at all times.

Hmmmmm.

And here for some reason I'd 'a thought the VERY FIRST song you would'a listened to on that thing would'a been by Neil Young with Crazy Horse, Moe???

(how quickly they forget their first love when another catches their eye, huh folks?!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

hmmmmm, I once bought used 72 GMC with an 8 track player, although I never owned an 8 track. I broke down and bought a nice duel cassette player for recording LP's & listenin' to stuff at home. Which worked great until my favourite "record" store, "head shop" switched over to CD's and my new 8 year old truck only has a CD player.

On the bright side I am very happy with the stylings of the Bonneville America

What's this internet thing everyone is talking about??

And why is this "quote" box all messed up & backwards??

Amazing. Took me 48 years to get here.

The first tunes in my lid, happened today, with a shuffle calling up:

I Think I See The Light - Cat Stevens
War and Peace - Vic Damone
At Last - Stevie Nicks
500 Miles - Peter, Paul and Mary
Octopus’s Garden - The Beatles
Music Man - Hank Webster
Duane's Tune - Dickey Betts

Hey Moe! (avoids 3 stooges references) My 12 months old cellphone (Nokia N95) is an mp3 player, movie player, GPS, computer flash disk, internet browser, email & chat client. Sometimes I even make phone calls with it.

I keep thinking that an iPhone might be nice but it doesn't do anything my Nokia doesn't, other than having a larger, touch sensitive screen.

I located a new invention for all you folks still boilin' up coffee on the stovetop like your grandparent's did. It's called a perculator. Simply fill the container with water, put some ground coffee in the basket thing, plug the contraption in and 5 minutes later, voila fresh brew. Add cream &/or sugar, or drink as is.

Triumph motorcycles with push button starters also. No more jumping up and down like a caveman.

moe, if you like miles davis, make sure you check out some other great jazz, like ramsey lewis, herbie hancock, maybe dizzy gillespie with arturo sandoval. a more cuban feel with the beuna vista social club (excellent) or something more modern with medeski, martin, and wood.

Dragging this back to Pink Floyd....
Yesterday, in the truck for seven hours to pick up the daughter for college Christmas Break, as usual lettin XM keep me sane. The "Jam On" channel played Les Claypool's version of "Dogs". My favorite album of all time is Animals. Came home and googled it. Turns out he did a whole live album of an "Animals" cover. Ordered it for myself, an early Christmas present.

Here's a taste, I never figured out how to embed a video:
