Why is the packaging for CDs, DVDs, etc all different when the product is physically the same? Wouldn't it be easier/ cheaper for storage, display, and productions purposes to package them all the same way? Why do vacuums have headlights? How come, if most of us are now paying for TV, we are still bombarded with commercials? Why is there nothing on in the middle of the night except infomercials?

Ahhh see it is to help us identify our favourite films games cds etc we reach for the familiar shape ....if they were all the same ....my bin would be getting fed with one of these that I dont wish to use regularily....

I noticed this the other day when I took my kid to the movies..... before the trailers for upcoming movies, there are like ten minutes of pepsi and cell phone and other crap commercials.... why don't they lower the price of a ticket if they are selling commercial time

And then you have those #*@ shows on T.V. like "the best commercials of 2008"...and people watch them. WHO CARES? Shows about commercials...go figure.

Wait a minute Ian!!! Now, I don't know about Pennsylvania, but California presently has NO REGULATIONS about the lighting requirements in ANY "space devoid of matter"!!!!  
(but, if I know anything about how those dunderheads in Sacramento think, I'm sure some sort of regulations are probably in the works as we speak here!!!)

Why aren't the fuel doors on cars all on the same side regardless of make or model?
Why don't the car makers all make certain things - like fuel caps - of the same design?
Why don't dogs have to wipe their butts?
Why does yellow snow taste so darned salty?
