I have Iso grips on my bike, and I really like these badboys. Does anyone know if it'd be legal to have those, and remove the regular front turn signals? (USA)

It all depends on the state you live in.Some states have few regulations on motorcycles others do.Do you have to get your motorcycle inspected? If you do I would figure you might have a problem.Check your local DMV websight,it might tell you there.

I do have to get it inspected, but the inspections are really basic. If your horn and lights work, you're good to go. (That said, if there's a regulation, Mass. probably has it.)

This might help ya, Joe.... http://www.bikerplaza.com/motorcycle-law.html...but all it says in the MA section next to "turn signals" is, "required by law". And so I'd say you still might want to phone your local MA Highway Patrol sub-station and talk to an officer there to see if your state's vehicle code is more specific in detail regarding this issue. (BTW...I think those bar end turn signals are pretty cool lookin' too)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I actually looked up the code (Apparently you can do that. Who knew?) There are reqiurements for where the signals need to be placed (i.e., how far apart, how high off the ground), but it doesn't say anything about where they can or can't be mounted on the bike. I'm thinking bar end lights are legal under that definition.

I think it depends on what the regs are regarding the size of the turn signal not just the location...I dont know,I say put them on,they look cool. Whats the worst that can happen?( you might have to take them off)

Dude, this is Mass. The worst that can happen is I get slapped with a HUGE ticket.
However, I didn't see anything about the size of the light in the reg.

My bet is if you leave the factory lights on, you'll be fine. I'm going to, but I live in a used to be red state.

I'm in a RED state and I hate it; but at least we don't have an inspection. I couldn't find any regs for SC and motorcycle requirements.

That's the thing. I want to take the factory lights off.

Bet Mr. Carbine would know "If you have any other questions or issues you can contact the MREP Program Coordinator at 413-781-0633 or e-mail him at Eugene.Carabine@state.ma.us."Quoted from http://www.mass.gov/rmv/motorcycle/index.htmA little off topic - Mass has a rabid infatuation with headlight height, which is why you see some dump trucks & the like with odd & afterthought looking headlight installs.
