Basic but vital track techniques, most of which can be applied to improve our street experience. We can never be reminded of this stuff enough.

Thanks for posting that. When I was up in Prescott visiting Dwight last summer, one thing I noticed about his riding is that he was taking a late apex into the turns on the winding roads we were on. It was a joy to follow him to Jerome while he was riding his Triumph Sprint, since I normally ride with big cruisers who frankly aren't great riders.

Part of that group was a guy I met last summer who lost his leg below the knee cap a few weeks later, and by all reports it was because he took a sleazeball line through a corner. Add in the fact that he was a novice rider doing 2 up on a big Harley trying to keep up with the pack through a challenging stretch of road, and it was a recipe for disaster that ended with the loss of his leg. I think I'll go post this type I turn over on the board he's on. There's a lot of novice riders over there who could use this tip.

Yah, not much I like to be late with except a turn-in. The sleazeball line will get you into trouble pronto, especially with oncoming traffic. There's a lot more to this than meets the eye (or your level 1 MSF instructor).

I read throught the article and was awestruck. I've been taking a sleazeball line through the turns. I REALLY gotta work on that. Thanks for posting it. Very Educational.

That link doesn't seem to work. But this one seems like the relevant material:
