My new America has landed and pretty much the first order of business is going to have to be to deal with the pipes. They are D&D megaphone pipes and they're seriously LOUD! I don't mind a little bit of loudness, but these are obnoxious, neighbor irritating, car-alarm-tripping, kinds of pipes.

Thing is, I love the tone of them. They have a low deep rumble that I really like. I just want less volume. So... different pipes? If so which ones?

The seller told me I could baffle them, but I really don't know the first thing about doing that. Are baffles available for these pipes?

I love car alarm tripping. If I hear a chirp when I go by I crack the pipes and set it off.

Stick it in your ear-the baffle that is.
Wear ear plugs. Cheapest fix.

See if another member on the board is willing to trade their more "mellow" pipes for yours.

There are generally folks here that purchased the TORs and want something with a little more "growl".

Does that help?

Check out this thread. Might be helpful.
It sounds like a stock TOR may be in your future.

I would definitely be up for a trade. I'm trying to figure out for what. Someone mentioned TOR. These are the Triumph "off road" pipes, right? They're louder than stock, but not as loud as straight pipes? Might be up my ally.

Right, Triumph Off Road. Thats what I have, and they are louder than the stock pipes (which are ridiculously quiet) but not TOO loud. The tors are just a little noisy, until you open it up and then they have a decent growl. Unless you like fairly quiet, I would look at something more aftermarket, or get some tors and do some gutting.

Yeah, that actually sounds about right. Remember, I'm a beemer rider, so quiet is normal for me.
