Well, yesterday my son and I took the old V-10 pick-up to the ranch and literally wasted 100 rounds of .45 ammo in the blink of an eye. If we had brought more ammo, it would have vanished too. Yep, the new toy,,an Auto-Ordinance Tommy Gun came to life...the fifty (50) round drum on that thing will empty fast...the 30 rounds clips are good but just don't look as cool as the "Al Capone" drum hanging off the little beast ! We "put to rest" several old Mobile 4T oil jugs and did a pretty good job on a fence post. It is deer season around here so the local hunters, off in the distance, probably thought WW III had just started for the few minutes we had ammo.....I am now wondering what kind of light show can be put on at night ?

Too bad they don't make .45 tracers! When I was in the army, the .30 and .50 cal tracers were spectacular at night.

Sounds like fun. I'm waiting on my order from ammuntiontogo.com for 100 rounds of OO buck. Have to be prepared if the economy totally collapses like some are predicting. Already have enough 45 ACP for my Taurus semi-auto. All I need is some .22 for my wifes plinker.

Looking at a 5 acre parcel over near Silver City, NM after the first of the year. If nothing else it'll be a good place to cool off in the summer. Good riding too over there up 180 or east over the mountains on 152.

That thing will always be hungry. You need to think about a whole new hobby. Casting bullets and reloading ammo. I make a box of .45 ACP's for less than $2.00 and making a few hundred of them takes me less than an hour.

The benefits are many. First that Auto Ordinance Tommy Gun with proper cleaning and oiling will last two or three lifetimes because you will not be wearing out the barrel with copper jackted slugs. Lead boolits will not wear the barrel like copper slugs will.

Second by getting your lead for boolit making from discarded wheel weights you will help the envoirnment.

Third you can make boolits in your spare time, like when watching TV in the living room or den.

Fourth, if you have others in the family who want to shoot the Tommy Gun then they can particpate in the hobby by helping out to make the ammo to feed the little beast.

Fifth, by buying powder, primers and molds etc you will be promoting the sport of shooting.

Sixth you will have the fabulous sense of satisfaction in knowing that every round you shoot will have been made by you and that they will have cost only about .03 per shot.

Seventh, now that you have the tools and know how you can aquire some other different firearms and make ammo for them just as easily.

Eighth, now that you have the Tommy Gun, what about a Garand, Carbine, 1903 rifle, 1911 Pistol? Then you can branch out to the British weapons of war....Enfield, Jungle Carbine, Webley, Sten Gun and such. German....MP 40, Luger, P-38, K98 Carbine.

Pretty soon you will be addicted and have to buy a large safe for your toys. Along the way you will expose the whole family to the joys of shooting and firearms and thereby equip them to challenge life.

Found reloading doesn't save me a lot of money, but, it sure does let me shoot more for the same amount....

I used to shoot NRA pistol competetion.... reloading was a lot cheaper as much as we wasted ammmo.....Until I got on an Army pistol team another lifetime ago...then it was taxpayer money paying for it...
But I like to shoot wadcutters way better than FMJ's....
makes neater holes! <LOL>

The Class 3 full auto versions (1921 & 1928 variants) are fun to shoot also...
