That $2 per oil change must be that new math.....
Amsoil is more $ up front, but then you can run it at least twice as long as any other oil. I only change the oil in any of my vehicles once a year (except during the break-in period). For the bikes it's 12,000 miles or once a year. So in the long run Amsoil is much more cost effective.
