A few more questions now that I know for sure I'm getting the bike:

1) How hard is it to add a tachometer to an America?

2) I didn't see it in the manual - Is there a separate lubrication system for the gearbox?

3) I have a Twin Max that I use to balance the carbs on my Beemer. Will this work on the TBA?

I'm sure I'll think of more soon.

1- Very easy. The optional tach drops in. Plug is already there.
2 - Gear oil and engine oil same.
3 - Yes it will work the same.

Meaning that when you fill the crank case, you're also filling the gearbox?

Are the stock carbs slide type or CV type?

For that reason, you can't just use any old automotive oil. It must be compatible with the clutch. If you start an oil thread, you will find there are many different opinions.

And in that respect, this board is no different from any BMW board.

But that's good to know because I'd been using regular old 20W50 in the Beemer's crankcase. (I always use BMW Hypoid Gear Oil for the gearbox and shaft drive.)

Speaking of oil, does the TBA respond well to using different weights of fork oil to stiffen/soften the front end?
