Corel PhotoPaint is also good, although not as advanced as later versions of Adobe Photoshop. I loaded Gimp at work (no license for Photoshop there), but it locked up my XP machine. Tried reinstallation, etc., but gave up after two hours.
I still miss Micrografx Picture Publisher. There wasn't even a wake.
