Hey Paul there is a truckers cafe about 1/4 mile before J12 on right hand side of road, coming from your directionNow you have lost me I'd say coming from my direction, 1/4 mile from M6 J12 is M6 Toll!! Are you on the A5? Possibly towards Cannock. Can't think of one the other way on the A5. I lived not a million miles from there for a few years so I thought I knew the road. Anyway, like I said, I haven't done my route to Edinburgh in 3 days yet, let alone Yorkshire 3 months away!!

Ade, That's the one. Sorry thought you were heading for M6 along A5. It was a check point on the National Rally last July, that's how I know it, only a minute off motorway.
Ray, need to speak to Jan first to see which way he wants to go, but I usually get off motorway at J34 when I go to Low Bentham. Know the hotel is only about 20 mins from Low Bentham.

Hi Paul
I have very close friends in High Bentham, that is why I was asking, just incase they were going to get off the M6 before Lancaster or after. Either way, I could meet up at Bull Beck?

Ray, If memory serves me right, J34 is Lancaster. Where's Bull Beck? Youngest son getting very excited about run now. Told me this evening I need to get new sleeping bags as old ones won't fit on bike!!!!!!
Paul. P.S How many posts do you have to make before I stop being tagged as a stranger?

Sorry mate, you've a few to go yet - need to hit 25 posts!
Depending when you go back to work, you should be a 'newbie' by then.
Have a look here .

I remember it. It's on the left heading towards Cannock. That would be a good place to meet - chance for a bacon butty en-route!

Hi Paul - J34 could be cool but do you know a way with a bit more "A" road - coming back from Wales I enjoyed the twisty bits and the roundabouts on the A40...as you know the area your advice is awaited PS we could meet up for a beer in a week or two? There's bound to be somewhere suitable near where we are... Jan

By a strange coincidence, this might well be the case - Ade, you up for it? Mind you, long way for a sarnie...Paul, the Baguette Barge is in central Stratford on Avon - as frequented by W.Shakespeare (possibly) . Is this OK for you? Jan

Jan, That the one in the canal basin? If so always worth a ride for their baguette's. Would you be thinking of a sunday. If so I will check off duty to see when i have a weekend off. Ade would be good if you could make it as well, or anyone else out there that fancies a visit to Stratford.

No worries - give me a day's notice!
I understand the BB's takings have dropped 20% and there was talk of laying off staff since I moved away ......

Hi Paul - 5th Feb sounds good, because Ade will probably still be trapped in a snowdrift somewhere on his way back from Edinburgh all through January ...BTW if we could move the locus of this meeting a little way NW perhaps Grzegorz could come along as well...ideas? Jan

Jan, Isn't there a Sunday meet on the A49, at Craven Arms, i think that is the name of the place, just remember stopping there on a RAT run once, there is a cafe and garage, should be about half way for Grzegorz. We could still meet up at bike park and go from there, through Worcester and Leominster, from what I remember it was a lovely ride, no motorway!!! all A roads. Grzegorz don't know where in North Wales you are, but if you follow A5 to Shewsbury and pick up the A49 from there.

OK for me too. I can drop onto the A5 and go through Cannock and head for Telford - no sweat.
Snow? What snow. Hardly saw any and there was certainly none falling.
Just over the Scottish border there was plenty in the fields a distance off but nothing but rain, rain and more rain.
Did I mention it rained too!?
